Maxwell's Laws Tour

Faraday's Law in Forms

Faraday stated that a current could be generated in a loop of wire by changing the magnetic flux though the loop. This can be visualized in forms by imagining a changing magnetic two form (adding and subtracting tubes) passing through a surface. Then according to Faraday's law this changing two form will generate an alternating E field. The E field is a one form so it is represented by sheets eminating from the changing tubes. This E field creates a stair case of potential that generates a current if a wire is placed outside ofthe surface.
