Gauss's Electric law

Carl Gauss was a gifted mathmetician and was able to put into formulas phenomenon that others could only imagine. Even though he was a mathemetician he was able to contribute to the world of physical science in various ways. One contribution was his electric law. This law states that the electric flux passing through a closed surface is equal to the net charge inside the surface. In this animation the net charge is zero, one possitive charge and one negative charge. Notice that all the lines of flux that leave the surface enter again, meaning that the net flux leaving the surface equals zero.
